How do I uncover squares and place flags?

Tap a covered square to uncover it. Hold it to place or remove a flag. You can also switch between uncover and flag mode using the controls at the bottom of the board.

Does the game need an internet connection or an account?

You can play without signing in, including offline. When connected, the app downloads updated clues and character dialogue. Invited editors can sign in to publish clue and dialogue corrections; editing requires internet access.

How do I turn the sound off?

Open Settings on the home screen to control music separately from effects, ambience and voices. The speaker button in a mission mutes all its sounds. Preferences are saved on the device.

The game is not responding. What should I do?

Close and reopen the app, then check for an update. If the problem continues, contact us with your device details and steps to reproduce it. Reinstalling can remove locally saved settings and unlocked rewards, so contact us first if you want to preserve them.

How is my progress stored?

Game progress, sound preferences and unlocked rewards are stored locally, without progress sync. Updated clues come from a shared online database. An optional editor account is separate from gameplay progress. Device backups are controlled by your Apple settings.
